Is there better film poster in the world than this poster for Dracula A.D. 1972? You've got vampires. Muscle cars. Exposed necks. A chalice of blood. How can you not love this? How can you not want to watch this flick right this very moment? The Universal monster movies never frightened me; I still have nightmares about the Hammer versions.

Caroline Munro alert on that one. She's pictured on the poster but not listed in those credits. And fellow Hammer girl - and former Playboy model - Stephanie Beacham is still going strong at 62.
I love the old Hammers. I bought the novelisation of Lust For A Vampire, gold, and I have a fridge magnet of Countess Dracula. But Twins Of Evil was always my favourite!
Absolutely agree about Hammer. Even when I was a kid and saw all the Universals second or third run they didn't have much effect on me. I still remember rushing out of Catholic school in 1958 to see the first Hammer Dracula. I went alone and it scared the hell out of me and several of its images stayed with me for many years. One of my biggest kicks was interviewing Jimmy Sangster a few decades later.
I regularly go through Hammer binges. A.D. 1972 is a favorite for all the hippie stuff. "Where are all the new happenings?" "I only invited the Stoneground!" I say these lines all the time.
Johnny Alucard! Grew up on this stuff... but sometimes the titles were better than the product - "The Satanic Rites of Dracula".
I love this movie! Great piece of work!
