New Swierczy Comics, and a Question

Just a little reminder that Immortal Iron Fist #19 is available today in comic book stores everywhere. It's the third part (of four) detailing Danny Rand's brutal struggle against the creepy dude with the monster in his throat. If you've been craving a little Fat Cobra in your diet, you might want to check this one out.

Also out today: a reprint of Wolverine Annual #2, in case you missed it the first time. It also makes an excellent Halloween present.

And now for that question: I was kicking around the idea of doing posts where I'd annotate my comics a little. No spoilers, just some DVD extra-type material, explaining why I made a particular choice, sharing a bit of trivia, revealing what #$%@! really stands for, etc. Any interest? I know I'd want to read something like this... but then again, I have strange ideas about things.

Let me know in the comments below, okay?

I'd be up for seeing a DVD commentary type thing for your comics, Duane. Gonna pick up my copy of Iron Fist #19 this week. BTW, loved the Orson Randall one shot.

One thing I wanted to throw out there. Danny thinks his dad is dead, but they never found the body. Wonder if this will somehow tie into the 8th City of Heaven somehow?

I'm following you on Twitter (my id: kms007)

I'd be very interested in seeing things like your thought process, exchanges with Travis, snippets of outlines or other stuff like that. But I'm not usually one for random facts, like the first appearance of the drunken boxer style or such.

Er, Travel, my apologies to him.

I would definitely be up for reading your annotations on your work, Duane. I eat that stuff up!

Seriously, print it on edible paper and everything... ;)

YES!

Excellent, guys. You got it.

(Just glad there wasn't the sound of crickets here.)

And yeah--I'm not one for random facts, either, Burt. It'd be more creative process-type stuff. Or how something changed from my original script, how Warren and Alejandro saved me from a boneheaded error, etc.

And it looks like this might show up on Marvel.com, too. Stay tuned...

Boo! Bad idea!

Just kidding.

Can we discuss the possibility of making the baby in "Cable" less creepy-looking. *I'm* starting to want to kill it. :)

I think it's a great idea, Duane.

Really looking forward to it, I've become annotation crazed lately, I think marathoning Fifty-Two broke me.

Duane,
Thank you in advance--your comments will only make tales that are already enjoyable even more so.

By the way, I never got around to thanking you when you sent me a PDF of "The Redhead." I became so engrossed reading it that I almost missed the stop on my train.

I'd love to hear your thoughts/annotations on your comics.

Please also--if possible--talk a little about what it takes to plan out and write a comic.

You got it, guys. I'll post an annotation of IRON FIST #19 in a few days.

God help you all.

Yes, please! I'd love anything like that.

You're already convinced, but I can't resist adding my two-cents worth:

Annotated Swierczynski?

Bring it on! And often. Please!

as always very impressive, i like the "he pulls an orphan you pull a fat cobra" lines, i was worried when i first saw all the immortal weapons coming to earth and looking at the city that iron first would turn into like some sort of silly team book and stuff. i guess probably an immature fear and very revealing of the depths of my nerdery, but any fears are now only of people with swollen necks.
my question is based likewise.
in the new avengers there was some stuff with luke cage and his baby and his babies momma and trying to get into avengers tower and shit. since that is over in a brian bendis book, how does that affect your story plans, like does marvel tell you what you can & can't do with character plots and stuff?
i guess that seems kinda dumb to ask but after my nerd moments i'm always lightheaded.

A Dvd style commentary on the book would be fantastic. Your thought process on penning the issue, interactions with Travel on art, things you left out(that don't spoil later events naturally), anything like that would be greatly enjoyed, and appreciated.

*quick fanboy gushing* I've been hooked on Iron Fist since the relaunch with Ed Matt and David, he quickly became one of my favorite comic characters, so much so that I went out and bought single issues from Marvel Premiere 15 forward (I'm missing some 90's stuff but I'll find it all eventually). I just wanted to say that you are doing a hell of a job on 'Fist', it continues to be at the top of my proverbial stack every time it ships. The title hasn't missed a beat in the switching of creative teams. From the fast paced epic story, the well scripted fight scenes, the dry humor, flashbacks(and your flash forwards), and classic Orson one shots; everything I've loved about Fist is there (We're even getting a Tales of the Future Iron Fist! How cool is that?) Keep up the fantastic work, good sir. I'll keep buying it and pimping it as much as humanly possible.
