A few updates from the nerdery:Cable #7 is out tomorrow, and it's the first issue of the next story arc, "Waiting for the End of the World." (CRB has a preview right here.) At left, however, is the insanely fucking cool Richard Corben zombie variant cover. I love Corben's work. I'm very fond of zombies. This makes my day.
Also, the hardcover edition of the first Cable arc, Messiah War (formerly known as "War Baby"), is now available at comic shops everywhere. Amazon also has it at a fairly sweet discount. There's a trade paperback edition out in early January 2009, but why wait?
And finally, I just learned that last week's one shot, Wolverine: Roar, is sold out and headed for a second printing. Thanks to everyone who picked up a copy last week!

I tried to pick up the Wolverine, but they were sold out. Looking forward to it.
you're welcome my liege.
Hi Duane!
Reanimated here (from the Keene board!)
I big time dug ROAR! Kicked much ass. Enjoyed your Iron Fist one shot too.
And the king size Cable and Cable #7
lol..i think that covers everything :)
Keep the cool shit coming.
Thanks so much, Reanimated! More cool shit on the way...
Wolverine: Roar was awesome! And the latest issue of Cable was definitely an improvement, as it seems like things are picking up. I wonder what Cable's end-game is since he can now only jump forward? More importantly, I wonder when we can expect some payoff in that regard?
Anonymous: Glad you're digging it. As for resolution/Cable's end game... well, I'm going to say what you'd expect me to say: keep reading.
Duane:
I am also a huge fan of Richard Corben's work. Do you have any input into who your fill-in pencilers are? If so, you should definitely try to get Corben to fill-in when Olivetti needs a break (like he did on issue #6). Their styles would mesh very well, I think, which is important to guys like me who will buy your run in a collected format (probably the eventual 12-issue oversized hardcover) despite having already bought the monthlies.
Also, I really think this second arc is off to a strong start and am loving the interaction with the X-men and X-Force (i.e., 400% more X-men). Keep up the solid work, and please let Nathan return and take his old team back from that overexposed midget, Wolverine!
Thanks for the answer (sort of), Duane. I will definitely keep reading. This book and X-Force are my two favorites that Marvel puts out right now. As to Bodyslide's last comment, I actually hope Cable doesn't come back and take over X-Force. It's Wolverine's team now, and it works really well that way. Cable has bigger responsibilities at the moment with his daughter, the mutant messiah. Of course, that could change once she's all grown up...
And since when is Wolverine a midget? Sure, he's not a particularly tall guy, but I always thought he was average height (whereas guys like Cable and Bishop and Colossus are just very tall, and thus make him look short)? And I loved the way Mike Deodato, Jr. drew him in Wolverine: Roar. Awesome stuff!
