The Blonde has been out in paperback for a month now, and I've been very happy to see reviews/mentions at various blogs over the past few weeks, including this stunner from Ed Gorman, a cool second look from Wally Conger, and this very nice mini-review from Gerald So. Huge thanks to all three of you gentlemen.
(Remember, if you've read The Blonde and want to check out "Redhead," it's yours for the asking. Email me proof that you've read the original novel, and I'll send you a pdf of the novella sequel. This offer expires... um, never.)
Dude, when Ed Gorman says such nice stuff about your crime novel, you ought to allow yourself one of those rare moments of self-satisfaction.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, you ought to print that review out so that the next time you feel like shit you can bust it out and stick it on the mirror beside your haggard reflection.
John Hocking
ken bruen listed 'the blonde' as one of his 3 best/fave books of the year on some site. sorry, i forget where it was.
ReplyDeletewhat kind of pics are you holding of bruen? i still can't believe the blurb on 'secred dead men' from him.
"...the most inventive, uplifting, hilarious, moving novel since CATCHER IN THE RYE."
i only just got a copy, so he may very well be right, but my god!
did he write that in a contest like you had here for 'the redhead'?
John, tell me about. Ed Gorman is mystery fiction's Eric Clapton; if not God, one of the higher deities.
ReplyDeleteSonny: Ken's the best. What can I say? (And yes, the photos are fairly incriminating.)
Neil: I love it when you call me "whoremonger."
