  3. Halfway through the 700 page "Henry James: A Life" by Leon Edel, which I'm reading as preparation for next month's book club - we'll discuss "The Master" by Colm Toibin.

Also reading a fascinating book about the creative mind called "Maps of the Imagination: The Writer as Cartographer" by Peter Turchi.

Just got Joe Konrath's "Dirty Martini" yesterday - am about 1/3rd through and plan on writing a review.

Am expecting "Origin: A Novel" by Diana Abu-Jaber to arrive tomorrow in the mail. Will write a review.

On the horizon is "A Welcome Grave" by Michael Koryta. Will write a review as well.

Just trying to get as much pleasure reading done before school starts up in August.

  4. I just finished Don Winslow's THE LIFE AND DEATH OF BOBBY Z and then made the mistake of watching the movie version of it.

Right now I'm reading THE BLADE ITSELF by Marcus Sakey and it's terrific so far.

Next up is one of Ross Thomas's books as I make my way through his books. How is this guy not better known?

  9. you're reading a book because of Clive Owen? do you have a crush on him too? He is so dreamy. *swoon*

I don't know about you people, but the new book: BLOWING THEIR COVER by Christin Kuretich (new up and coming author) has me riveted.

"The Blood of Losers" by Dean Garrison.

    First sentence:
"The dead baby was hardly bigger than your average house cat."

Can't miss with an opener like that.
